Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate polysomnographic (PSG) differences between adolescents with major depressive disorder (MDD) and healthy controls.
  • To identify specific sleep parameters associated with adolescent depression.

Main Methods:

  • A polysomnographic (PSG) study was conducted on 23 adolescents diagnosed with DSM-III major depressive disorder (endogenous subtype).
  • A control group of 23 healthy adolescents was included for comparison.
