Summary

Thyroidectomy did not significantly impact bone mineral density in differentiated thyroid cancer patients. Calcitonin levels remained stable, showing no effect on bone metabolism post-surgery.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess bone mineral content (BMC) in patients after thyroidectomy for differentiated thyroid carcinoma.

  • To investigate the relationship between serum calcitonin levels and bone metabolism post-thyroidectomy.
