    Background:

    • The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) is a widely used psychometric tool.
    • Understanding the personality characteristics of individuals with pedophilia is crucial for diagnosis and treatment.
    • Previous research has explored various MMPI scales in relation to pedophilia, with mixed findings.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To compare MMPI subscale scores related to affection needs and naivete between pedophiles and control groups.
    • To investigate the utility of the Pedophilia (PE) Scale in differentiating pedophiles from other psychiatric and general populations.
    • To examine MMPI Scale 4 (Psychopathic Deviate) and Scale 9 (Hypomania) item differences among the study groups.
