Summary

Malignant lymphoproliferative disease in skeletal muscle shows distinct MRI features. These findings suggest considering lymphoproliferative disease in muscle lesions with specific T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging characteristics.

  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was utilized to characterize the affected muscles.

Findings:

  • Involved muscles demonstrated hypointensity to fat on T1-weighted images.
  • Muscles were hypointense or isointense on T2-weighted images and hyperintense on STIR images.
  • Specific MRI signal characteristics were observed in T1-weighted, T2-weighted, and STIR sequences.
