Summary

A new pH indicator derived from lissamine-rhodamine B exhibits maximal fluorescence in acidic conditions with a pKa of 4.6. Its structure and pH-dependent fluorescence mechanism were determined using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.
