Summary

Infantile spasms (IS) in infants show altered cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) tryptophan metabolites, with lower serotonin and higher kynurenine. Treatment with adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) normalized these levels, suggesting a link between seizures and neurotransmitter imbalance.
