THE EFFECTS OF A GRADUATED EXERCISE PROGRAM ON PATIENTS WITH PREVIOUS MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

Abstract:
Four male patients with a previous myocardial infarction, who completed a 12-week program of graduated exercises, had an average reduction in subcutaneous fat thickness of 2.7 mm. and an increase in vital capacity of 570 c.c.At the completion of the program, muscular endurance and progressive work capacity were greater in the cardiac patients than in a group of adults without known heart disease before a similar program.
