Phalangeal periosteal (juxtacortical)chondroma of the foot

The author discusses a benign cartilaginous tumor involving the tubular bones, more frequently in the hand than the foot. Its rare occurrence in the second toe of an adult male is illustrated. Pain and swelling required excisional biopsy, whose diagnosis was aided by radiographic findings of calcification and cortical erosion.
