Abstract:
A chronic inflammatory reaction and an increased expression of Ki-67 positive cells in arthrofibrotic tissue and the increased proliferation of fibroblasts from arthrofibrotic tissue could be due to an immunopathological reaction. Compared to systemic and organ fibrotic tissue arthrofibrotic tissue is characterized by an increased expression of collagen type VI.
