Background:

Central forefoot pain and metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint dislocation are common debilitating conditions.
Overload of the central metatarsals can lead to significant pain and functional impairment.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy of Weil osteotomy in correcting painful, overloaded central forefoot with MTP joint dislocation.
To assess the surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction following Weil osteotomy.

Main Methods:

A prospective study involving 35 feet (19 left, 16 right) undergoing Weil osteotomy.
Procedures included single or double metatarsal correction, with 19 cases also undergoing concurrent hallux valgus correction.
Mean follow-up duration was 31 months.
