Background:

Esophageal leiomyomatosis is a rare condition characterized by smooth muscle cell proliferation in the esophageal wall.
Tumors are typically slow-growing and asymptomatic, but symptomatic ones often exceed five centimeters.
The standard treatment has been surgical removal, frequently involving esophagectomy and reconstruction.

Observation:

A 29-year-old woman presented with an atypical esophageal leiomyomatosis.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was instrumental in diagnosing the condition.
The patient's tumor was successfully treated with enucleation.

Findings:

Enucleation of the esophageal leiomyoma was an effective treatment.
This approach offers a less invasive alternative to traditional esophagectomy.
