Hypertension accelerates age-related memory decline in rats. Captopril (an ACE inhibitor) treatment delays this decline, suggesting its benefits extend beyond blood pressure reduction.

Background:

  • Spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) show faster cognitive decline than normotensive rats.

Purpose of the Study:
