Abstract:
The number of falls increase with the elderly. The aetiology is in relationship with the age of the patient, his diseases, his medicines and his environment. Falls are responsible of high morbidity, mortality and a loss of autonomy. To evaluate the risk of falls takes part of the comprehensive geriatric assessment. Only multidisciplinary interventions by people with risk factors are effectiveness. The use of hip protector decreases the number of fracture.
