  • Imaging Technology

Background:

  • Neutron imaging offers unique material contrast but is often limited by beam polychromaticity.
  • Accurate phase imaging is crucial for detailed material characterization.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To develop and demonstrate a formalism for accurate phase imaging with polychromatic neutron beams.
  • To enable faster neutron imaging and pave the way for tomographic applications.

Main Methods:

  • Developed a novel formalism for phase retrieval from polychromatic neutron data.
  • Experimentally validated the formalism using a silicon phantom.
  • Compared experimental results with theoretical simulations.

Main Results:

Related Experiment Videos

  • Achieved accurate phase imaging with highly polychromatic neutron sources.
