Aim:
To study the chemical constituents of Hedysarum polybotrys Hand.-Mazz..
Methods:
The compounds were separated with Sephadex LH-20 and silica gel column chromatography, and their structures were identified on the basis of spectral analysis.
Results:
Five compounds were identified as hedysalignan A (1), isoliquiritigenin (2), formononetin (3), calycosin (4) and ononin (5).
Conclusion:
Hedysalignan (1) is a new compound and the others were obtained from the plant for the first time.
