Summary

This study found that a combination of 15% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) at pH 6.5 with 25% sodium hypochlorite and 3% hydrogen peroxide effectively removed root canal smear layers. This irrigation strategy proved most successful in coronal and middle root thirds.
