Summary

Bacterial endophthalmitis is a rare but serious complication of otitis media. This case highlights the risk of Streptococcus pyogenes spreading from the ear to the eye, even in healthy adults.

  • The same bacterial strain was identified in the perforated ear.
  • Despite treatment, the patient required evisceration of the affected eye.
