[Lymphocyte transformation test in the diagnosis of occupational allergy (author's transl)]

In 139 persons occupationally exposed to compounds of chromium, formaldehyde and p-phenylenediamine lymphocytic transformation test (ltt) was performed to detect a delayed-type hypersensitivity. In patients suffering from either contact dermatitis or allergic respiratory diseases the findings of ltt were concordant only in about one third of the cases in comparison to patch testing, intracutaneous test, nasal provocation or inhalation test.
