Long-term depression, or LTD, is one of the ways by which synaptic plasticity—changes in the strength of chemical synapses—can occur in the brain. Summary

Postnatal depression occurred in 16.2% of mothers shortly after birth and 13% at 4 months. Seasonal factors, particularly less light in autumn and winter, may influence the occurrence of this mood disorder.
