Background:

Giant cell fibroblastoma (GCF) and dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) are rare soft tissue tumors.
Understanding the relationship between GCF and DFSP is crucial for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Observation:

A unique case of GCF with an integrated DFSP component was identified.
The tumor was located in the left inguinal region of a 37-year-old male patient.

Findings:

Histological analysis confirmed the coexistence of both GCF and DFSP features within the same lesion.
This presentation provides evidence for a potential shared histogenetic pathway.

Implications:

The findings suggest a close relationship and possible transformation or common origin between GCF and DFSP.
Further research into the molecular mechanisms underlying these tumors may elucidate their connection.
This case highlights the importance of thorough histopathological examination for diagnosing complex soft tissue neoplasms.
