Background:

Complex soft-tissue defects occur in 1-12% of patients undergoing arthroplasty or osteosynthesis.
Management is challenging due to factors like tissue viability, infection, and exposed hardware.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the effectiveness of early soft-tissue coverage using plastic surgery interventions for complex defects post-orthopedic surgery.

Main Methods:

Six patients with complex defects underwent radical debridement and vacuum-assisted closure (VAC), followed by flap transplantation within a week.
Medical history, surgical procedures, wound treatment, and outcomes were analyzed.

Main Results:

All patients achieved wound closure with plastic surgical intervention.
