Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) offers sustained seizure reduction for some Chinese epilepsy patients. While well-tolerated, VNS effectiveness varies, benefiting a subgroup with intractable convulsions.

- One patient achieved seizure freedom; 46% had ≥50% seizure reduction, while 39% showed poor response (<20% reduction).
Conclusions:
- VNS demonstrated sustained effectiveness and good tolerability in this patient group.
- VNS benefited a subgroup of patients with intractable convulsions, indicating personalized treatment responses.
