Summary

Intracranial aneurysms are rarely linked to complex partial seizures. This study reports five cases, with some seizures resolving after aneurysm treatment and anti-epileptic drugs.

Background:

  • Complex partial seizures are a type of epilepsy.
  • Intracranial aneurysms are abnormal bulges in blood vessels within the brain.
  • The association between intracranial aneurysms and complex partial seizures is infrequently documented.

Observation:

  • Five cases of complex partial seizures (CPS) with intracranial aneurysms are presented.
  • Aneurysms were identified via MRI and angiograms.
  • One patient presented with multiple aneurysms.

Findings:

  • Four patients underwent GDC coil embolization and received anti-epileptic medication.
  • Two patients experienced seizure resolution, while two reported persistent minor seizures.
