Summary

Aberrant expression of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II on thyroid cells does not induce autoimmune thyroid disease. Transgenic mice with MHC class II on thyrocytes did not develop thyroid autoimmunity, indicating this expression alone is insufficient.
