The association between preeclampsia and angiotensin-converting enzyme insertion/deletion polymorphism

The angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) deletion polymorphism (D allele) is linked to preeclampsia. Preeclamptic women with the II genotype showed lower ACE activity, suggesting a genetic influence on the condition.
