[The interest in the TV health promotion programs]
Abstract:
The questionnaire survey was carried out among 1000 persons to assess the determinants of interest in unpaid TV health programmes: present and future viewing. Television was found as one of the most important sources of information, usually accidental. Free time and air-time were among supporting factors. The viewers had a positive attitude toward health programmes; many perceived disadvantageous effects and barriers for watching. The audience segmentation indicated a non-representative distribution. Women, married or widowed persons, older, those with ill health, lower economic status and role models were more likely to be present and future viewers.
