  • While most commonly affecting extremities, it can rarely present in the trunk.

Observation:

  • A case report details a 20-year-old woman with a 2-year history of chest wall mass and pain.
  • Biopsy revealed nests of round cells with clear cytoplasm, confirmed as clear cell sarcoma via S-100 and HMB-45 immunohistochemistry.

Findings:

  • The patient received neoadjuvant chemotherapy with ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide.
  • Wide-margin surgical resection of the chest wall tumor, sternum, and adjacent tissues was performed.
  • Reconstruction involved Marlex mesh, regin, and a musculocutaneous flap.

Implications:

  • This case demonstrates the successful management of a rare chest wall clear cell sarcoma.
  • Multimodal treatment including chemotherapy and extensive surgery can achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Further research into optimal treatment strategies for extrimity clear cell sarcoma is warranted.
