Anisomycin downregulates gap-junctional intercellular communication via the p38 MAP-kinase pathway

Summary
Anisomycin reduces gap-junctional intercellular communication (GJIC) by decreasing phosphorylated connexin 43 (Cx43) levels, an effect mediated by p38 MAP kinase activation. SB203580, a p38 inhibitor, prevents this Cx43 loss and maintains GJIC.
