Summary

Aortic intimal sarcoma, a rare cancer, is often diagnosed late. Helical CT imaging revealed advanced intraluminal and extraluminal disease with widespread metastases in a patient.

Background:

Aortic intimal sarcomas are exceptionally rare primary aortic neoplasms.
Diagnosis is frequently delayed due to low clinical suspicion and misinterpretation of findings.

Observation:

This case highlights helical CT findings in advanced aortic intimal sarcoma.
The patient presented with both intraluminal and extraluminal disease components.

Findings:

Helical CT demonstrated extensive intraluminal tumor burden.
Extraluminal extension and widespread metastatic disease were evident.
The imaging findings underscore the aggressive nature of this rare sarcoma.
