Summary
Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging with (18)F-FHBG can monitor mutant Herpes simplex virus-1 thymidine kinase (mHSV1-tk) gene expression. Pulmonary (18)F-FHBG uptake correlates with mHSV1-tk activity, especially when vascular permeability is increased.
