Background:

Observation:

  • A 45-year-old female presented with a palpable, asymptomatic right anterior cervical mass.
  • Imaging studies (CT, MRI, US, RI) localized a solid tumor posterior to the right thyroid lobe.
  • Macroscopic examination revealed a reddish tumor with cystic lesions containing chocolate-colored mucous.

Findings:

  • Histopathological analysis confirmed parathyroid adenoma with positive parathyroid hormone (PTH) staining.

  • Despite positive PTH staining, the patient exhibited no clinical or biochemical evidence of hyperparathyroidism.
  • The tumor was successfully resected via right thyroid lobectomy.
