Abstract:
In January 1992, the Ford County (Kansas) Health Department received a report of a pregnant women with a positive serologic test for syphilis. Syphilis had not been reported in the county (1990 population: 27,463) since September 1989. As a result of the investigation summarized in this report, six additional persons with syphilis were identified by contact tracing.
