Colonic epithelial cell mediated suppression of CD4 T cell activation

Murine colonic epithelial cells (CEC) do not activate CD4 T cells and prevent their activation by antigen-presenting cells, suggesting CEC maintain gut T cell tolerance.

- CEC act as crucial regulators of gut immunity.
