Background:

  • Electrolyte balance, specifically magnesium, may play a role in GDM pathophysiology.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate longitudinal changes in serum ionized magnesium levels in women with GDM.
  • To compare ionized magnesium concentrations between GDM patients and healthy pregnant controls.

  • Further research is warranted to explore the clinical implications of these magnesium alterations in GDM.
