Summary

Context:

Retrograde rigid ureterorenoscopy (URS) is an established procedure.
Data from August 1985 to June 1990 from a single unit is analyzed.

Purpose:

To analyze the results and complications of retrograde rigid ureterorenoscopies.
To evaluate the efficacy of URS in treating ureteral lithiasis, diagnosing conditions, and managing tumors.

Summary:

A total of 122 URS procedures were performed on 106 patients (68% female, 32% male).
Indications included 72% ureteral lithiasis, 14% diagnosis, and 7% ureteral tumors.
Success rates for lithiasis treatment were 92.86% for primary cases and 71.43% post-ESWL.
Diagnostic accuracy was 93.75%.
The overall complication rate was 19.7%, with only 3.28% considered relevant.
