Summary

Glucocorticosteroids show no significant benefit or harm for chronic hepatitis C patients. More research is needed to confirm effects and rule out serious adverse events in hepatitis C virus patients.

  • To evaluate outcomes in patients with or without HCV-related autoimmune disorders.

  • Searches conducted across multiple databases (Cochrane Hepato-Biliary, CENTRAL, MEDLINE, EMBASE) up to July 2003.
  • Data extraction and validation by two independent reviewers.
