Area of Science:

  • Ophthalmology
  • Allergy and Immunology

Context:

  • Allergic conjunctivitis is a prevalent condition.
  • Ocular involvement and allergen sensitivity require further investigation.

Purpose:

  • To determine the most frequent ocular manifestations of allergic conjunctivitis.
  • To identify specific patient sensitivities to common aeroallergens.

Summary:

  • A longitudinal prospective study involved 20 patients diagnosed with allergic conjunctivitis.
  • Patients were evaluated for ocular symptoms and underwent skin prick testing for aeroallergen reactivity.

Impact:

  • Provides insights into the clinical presentation of allergic conjunctivitis.
  • Informs targeted allergy testing and management strategies for ocular allergies.
