Insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) from bone marrow stromal cells drives B-lymphocyte development by promoting immunoglobulin gene expression. IGF-I also enhances interleukin-7 (IL-7)-driven proliferation, crucial for B-cell maturation.
