Abstract:
Because our digestive system has not basically changed since prehistoric times it is suggested that it would be best for our health if our diet conformed as nearly as possible to that of our hunter-gatherer ancestors. Reasons are given for indicating that their diet was mainly plant based and uncooked. The paper is necessarily speculative and comments and criticisms are invited.
