Abstract:
This study was designed to compare the therapeutic effect acupuncture in combination with ultrasound therapy with that of ultra short-wave electrotherapy on temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Sixty-eight patients with TMD were randomized equally into 2 groups to receive the two treatments respectively, and the therapeutic effects were found to be significantly different (P<0.05). Acupuncture combined with ultrasound therapy yielded better results in a shorter treatment course.
