Main Methods:

  • Utilized an adapted scale from addiction research.
  • Assessed women diagnosed with anorexia nervosa.

Main Results:

  • 48% of participants reported symptoms of exercise dependence in the past month.
  • The severity of exercise dependence correlated positively with anxiety levels.

Conclusions:

Related Experiment Videos

  • Findings support the hypothesis of addictive properties of exercise in AN.
  • Further research is warranted on the relationship between exercise dependence and anxiety in AN.
