Abstract:
This report briefly discusses 65 patients who underwent mediastinoscopy for diagnosis of intrathoracic lesions. The procedure eliminates unnecessary thoracotomy and results in lower mortality and morbidity rates. It is the treatment of choice in sarcoidosis. None of the patients had complications, and curative resection was possible in 33%.
