Abstract:
The classical-electrocardiographic concepts of the death, injured and ischemic zones based on the action potential changes and its vectorial manifestations in the surface ECG in relation with the solid angle theory are described. The necessary recognition of this three concentrical zones to sustain the diagnosis of myocardial infarction is described. The special case of the pure dorsal and the posteroinferior infarction extension to the right ventricle explain the necessity to utilize additional leads, other of the 12 classically used and the findings that permit the diagnosis.
