Background:

  • Ganglioneuromatous polyposis is an exceptionally rare intestinal disease.
  • Its clinical, endoscopic, microscopic, and evolutionary features are not well-understood.
  • This condition is distinct from isolated polypoid ganglioneuroma and diffuse ganglioneuromatosis.

Observation:

  • Three cases of colonic ganglioneuromatous polyposis with an unusual diffusion pattern are presented.
  • Patients were aged 63-72 and presented with chronic diarrhea.
  • Endoscopic findings included diffuse polyposis (predominantly cecum/right colon) and hyperemic flat lesions enhanced by indigocarmine.

Findings:

  • Histological examination revealed diffuse mucosal ganglioneuromatous proliferation with some adenomatous polyps.
