Abstract:
Patients require intravenous access in many NHS settings. An audit undertaken at one trust found that different clinical areas used a range of products, complicating the task of providing consistent staff training and support. The result was a nurse-led trial of four products, which enabled the trust to introduce a single cannula standard.
