Volunteer services--it's not just the thought that counts

Abstract:
Voluntary and donated oral health services are not an adequate safety net system for those in need--what must be done is vast compared to the capacity of this response. Nevertheless, the rule should be "everyone should give, and they should give enough to make a difference." The personal rewards of voluntary service are described and nine guidelines for contributing oral health care are offered.
