Summary:

  • Dental unit water, particularly from the fountain, air-water syringe, and turbine, showed bacterial counts 2-3 times above legal limits at the start of the day.
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa was frequently detected, while total and fecal coliforms were absent. Legionella pneumophila was found in one control environment.
  • Air and surface quality were generally good, especially in offices with active ventilation systems.
