Summary

This study describes three new patients with a rare bone dysplasia, Czech Dysplasia Metatarsal Type. While sharing key features with previously identified cases, these patients lack weather-dependent joint pain, expanding our understanding of this condition.

Background:

  • Pseudorheumatoid arthritis is a rare, dominantly inherited bone dysplasia.
  • Previous cases exhibited distinctive phenotypes and radiographic findings, including weather-dependent joint pain.

Observation:

  • Three additional Caucasian patients from the Czech Republic were identified.
  • These patients presented with similar clinical histories, phenotypes, and radiographic features.

Findings:

  • A key difference was the absence of weather-dependent articular pain in these new cases.
  • This expands the clinical spectrum of the previously described bone dysplasia.

Implications:

  • The findings suggest Czech Dysplasia Metatarsal Type may be a relatively common constitutional bone disorder in the Czech Republic.
