Summary

Anti-I-A antibodies suppress experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU). Adoptive transfer of lymphocytes from treated rats also suppressed EAU, suggesting antigen-specific suppressor cells mediate this immunotherapy.

Background:

  • Experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU) is an inflammatory eye disease.
  • Anti-I-A antibodies can prevent EAU development, but the mechanism is unclear.
