Streptococcus porcinus as a cause of spontaneous preterm human stillbirth

Abstract:
We report, to our knowledge, on the first case of a woman suffering stillbirth due to Streptococcus porcinus on the basis of microbiologic and histologic data.
Insights
This study documents the first known case of stillbirth caused by Streptococcus porcinus infection. Microbiologic and histologic evidence confirmed the bacterium as the cause of fetal demise.
